THE OPPORTUNITY

LARIEN™ is seeking passionate, high-energy cohosts and culinary instructors to join our growing team of educators, storytellers, and food lovers. From private dinner parties and corporate team building to our signature virtual Community Cookbook Club™, this is an opportunity to be part of something fun, innovative, and rewarding.

Instructors may work in-person, virtually, or both. Some days you may be leading a cozy cookie class for families across California via Zoom, and on others, you might help moderate a virtual pasta-making experience for a Fortune 500 company hosted live from Italy.

This is perfect for chefs, educators, and culinary creatives seeking contract work with flexible hours, competitive pay, and high impact.

From Michelin-trained chefs to seasoned educators, our team is united by a love of teaching, cultural food traditions, and hands-on instruction. All classes reflect LARIEN’s signature tone: warm, polished, and rooted in quality.

ROLES AVAILABLE

  • Virtual Culinary Instructor (Zoom-based)

  • In-Person Cooking Class Instructor (City Contracts & Private Events)

  • Cohost/Moderator for Corporate Virtual Team Classes

  • Seasonal or Specialty Chef Instructor (Pastry, Wine, Holiday, Vegan, etc.)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Teach interactive, hands-on classes to various audiences

  • Share food knowledge in an engaging and confident manner

  • Moderate virtual classes and support lead chefs

  • Communicate clearly and professionally before, during, and after events

  • Support student learning by managing class logistics and safety

  • Represent the brand with hospitality, enthusiasm, and precision

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1–2 years professional kitchen, education, or culinary instruction experience

  • Passion for teaching and sharing food culture

  • Strong Zoom or public speaking presence

  • Valid CA Food Handler’s Certification (or ServSafe)

  • Comfortable working evenings/weekends

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Access to a suitable teaching kitchen (for virtual instructors)

  • Reliable internet and camera (for virtual instructors)

COMPENSATION

  • $200–$350 per class or event depending on format and class type

  • Materials reimbursements available

  • Flexible contract roles: choose your availability

  • Potential to earn more through workshops, tours, private bookings

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Toast & Oats LLC is a certified California business

  • All instructors are hired as 1099 independent contractors

  • Classes are booked under the LARIEN™ brand or city partner portals

  • Aprons and custom materials may be supplied for some programs
